DESIGNS BY NATURE The Tulare Historical Museum is pleased to announce an exhibition of artwork titled "DESIGNS BY NATURE - NEAR & FAR, Photographs by Jeri Burzin." The exhibit will be on display Thurs., June 7 through Sat., August 4, 2012, in the Tulare Historical Museum's Heritage Room. A reception for the artist will be Thurs., June 7, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. The public is invited and the reception is free of charge. A desire to bring back memories of a Caribbean sailing trip sparked Jeri's interest in photography a number of years ago. Jeri enlarged and displayed images that she liked, and attended a variety of photography workshops in Yosemite, the White Mountains, Sequoia National Park and Pt. Reyes. These experiences inspired her to learn about the camera and see what was special about nature, and "ordinary things." Workshops at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University taught her about photography as a medium of communication that is exciting to children, which she has integrated into her work as an educational therapist. |
